Role: Consultant – Content Developer & Facilitator
Location: Mumbai | Duration: Feb 2013 – Jun 2013
Partnered with one of India’s largest NGOs, Pratham Education Foundation, to design and scale a life-skills training program aimed at integrating underprivileged youth into the employable workforce.
Program: Employability Skills for Young Adults (Life Skills Module)
Audience: 18–24-year-old school dropouts from economically and socially marginalized backgrounds
Scale: Multi-location, multilingual, pan-India pilot program
Objective: Develop training content and enable trainers for large-scale delivery
Learners were underconfident, disengaged, and lacked exposure to structured learning environments.
Same life-skills module had to be delivered across four distinct vocational tracks:
Automotive
Healthcare
Construction

Trainers were regional facilitators with language differences, requiring interpreter-supported Train-the-Trainer (TTT) delivery.
Content had to be adapted to regional norms, gender sensitivities, and socio-cultural expectations.
Designed storytelling-led, activity-based instructional methodology tailored to low-literacy, high-diversity learner groups
Created contextualized learning variations—keeping core activities constant while adapting stories, examples, and scenarios to each vocational track
Developed multilingual-ready content frameworks, collaborating with translators to preserve instructional intent across regions
Led Train-the-Trainer programs, equipping facilitators to deliver consistent and engaging learning experiences across locations
Incorporated visual learning aids and experiential activities to reduce dependency on language and increase engagement
Ensured cultural adaptability, customizing content (names, scenarios, interactions) to align with regional sensitivities
Designed simulation-based learning tools (e.g., realistic bank passbook and cheque book activities) to teach financial literacy
Developed sensitive-topic learning frameworks (e.g., workplace safety and harassment awareness) using indirect storytelling to ensure comfort and understanding among hesitant learners
Contributed to the successful rollout of a pan-India pilot program with strong learner enrollment
Enabled trainer readiness across regions, ensuring consistent program delivery
Supported learner confidence building and real-world application of skills, contributing to employability outcomes
Developed content that was scaled and translated across multiple Indian states, demonstrating adaptability and reach
This engagement required a fundamental shift from traditional corporate and academic learning environments to highly diverse, low-exposure learner groups—strengthening my ability to design inclusive, adaptable, and impact-driven learning experiences at scale.
